The story centers on a day in the life of Caro and María, a couple on the brink of separation. Encouraged by María, they give Tomy, their dog, up for adoption. At dawn, Caro wakes up distraught and confused about having "given" her dog, and decides to go and retrieve it that same night in the middle of a storm.
